2009 Distinguished Alumnus Awards - James DickDuration: 3:34 James Dick was one of six recipients of the Texas Exes 2009 Distinguished Alumnus Award. This is the acceptance speech he gave at the presentatio of the award on October 9, 2009. James Dick received a BM in 1963 from The University of Texas at Austin. He lives in Round Top and is a renowned concert pianist who performs with symphonies worldwide and was named Texas State Musician in 2003 and Texas Medal of the Arts recipient in 2009. He founded The Festival-Institute at Round Top as a place for young musicians to study under scholarship. |
